IMPACT HUB
This project based on the reinterpretation the concept of Hetetoropia by Michel Foucault since it could be related with the İskenderun’s dinamity. The concept basically describes places functioning in heterogeneous conditions. The nodes define the heterotopian conditions and density of heterotopia. I am imagining an architectural heterotopia and the new type of spatial condition with respect to these heterotopia effects on the specific nodes in site. Project act within, on, against and for heterotopia. It allows to juxtapose the heterotopian condition with elements while criticizing the existing situation in Iskenderun. For the site analysis the city perceived as a layered structure of heterotopic nodes and networks and mapped this conditions according to six principles and my interpretation. As an example of the interpretation; Transformation heterotopias, they could change/transform according to cultural/social environment. So it is mapped the spaces of dead zones or used for different purposes in the history and urban transformations. For example; lodgings because while they are for accommodation in the past, now it is mostly empty and old spaces. Also, the spaces which turn into space for scrub and dumbs in the city according to needs and usage. I can say that each heterotopia principles are a continuation and variation of each other so they complete themselves and open to interpretation that is why one urban node could include several principles.
